Are you passionate about the world of truffle? Are you interested in knowing this mysterious delicacy? It is known that the Mediterranean is by far the richest place in the world for truffle and mushroom hunting, and it’s also known for its rich and diverse ecology, hosting rare species of flora and fauna.


Discover the magic of truffle hunt in the foothills of Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece and home of the Gods of Greek mythology, and Chalkidiki, a peninsula and regional unit of Greece in Central Macedonia, also rich in truffles, mushrooms and magical beaches during the summer time.


The program includes traditional routes, truffle and mushroom hunting in the local forests and also observation of the ecosystem. In its duration you will find out about the flora and fauna of the areas, and their contribution to the dissemination of truffle.


During the field trip we will be analyzing rare truffles (Tuber magnatum, T. melanosporum, T. macrosporum), describing the flora, the climate and the soil of the habitat.


We will get into contact with local eco businesses, such as producers of honey, wine, milk or other products that support the site, and conclude with a lunch including truffles and wild mushrooms collected during the trip. An experienced chef prepares traditional dishes with the truffles, and accompanies them with local wines that match the aroma of the truffles.





Between March and June, our field trip includes habitats of Bianchetto truffle (Tuber borchii), black summer truffle (T. aestivum) and wild mushrooms (Morchella, Pleurotus, Helvella)



Fall/Autumn (white truffle hunt)


During the months between mid-September and late-December we arrange field trips exclusively for the hunt of precious white truffle (Tuber magnatum) with the help of our experienced truffle-dogs. This season is also rich in wild mushrooms (Bolete, Caesar's mushrooms, Lactarius, Agaricus, Russula, Lycoperdon, Hydnum, Craterellus, Chanterelle).

Winter season field trips are based on the last month of precious white truffle (Tuber magnatum), along with Black winter truffle (T. brumale) and during the last month, the beginning of the Bianchetto truffle (T. borchii), a truffle that Greece is famous for. Its exquisite smell differentiates if from precious white truffle, and large quantities of it can be found in local forests. What most distinguishes it from the white truffle is the aroma, initially fine and pleasant but later turning strong and garlicky.

The summer season is exclusively for the hunt of Black summer truffle (Tuber aestivum) until the beginning of August, and for some of the wild mushrooms (Boletus, Ganoderma, Lactarius, Russula, Suillus). During the field trip we also spend a day in the beautiful beaches of Greece and in seaside taverns, tasting local dishes and drinks (wine, ouzo, retsina) alongside truffle and mushroom delicacies.
